    To Whom It May Concern,

I have been going to your Food Basic store in Brampton since it has opened. Store number: 895 Hwy. 10 and Sandlewood. The service has always been polite, neat, professional. Until today.
At 12:00 to 12:16 pm i was putting my groceries on the belt which was not cleaned after the next customer. I said hello to the young lady. Cashier number: 159 Number 5 check out. She said hello. I always put my groceries on the belt nice and neat. Especially, the ones that could break. She was throwing my groceries on top of each other. So fast that a Tenderlake pie crust fell to the floor. When i said to her please do not throw the groceries on top of each other, plus the pie crust could break. She did not apologize or say anything to me. One or two items went on the belt after that neatly. Then she continued to throw them on. I did not say anything else. I need to the conveyor belts since i had a lot of groceries. When it was time to paid she rudely said you can pay now. When i asked her how much my bill was she did not answer me. I looked on the screen myself. She waited for a bit while i continued to pack my groceries. Then she moved to the belt to cause a pop bottle to tip over. I did say to her if she could wait another few minutes. Her response was i have to get to the other customers. Then she leaned forward and whispered something to the next customer about me!!! Evidently this young person has no respect, manners and does not like her job. But clearly she ;must be spoken to and dealt with. This would not stop me from going to this store but i definitely would not go through her line again.

I am regrettably celiac and must consume gluten-free products, which for the most part, I purchase at your store. However, of late, the all-but-gluten white sliced bread is too pricy at $5.79 a small loaf. Today, I drove to No Frills store to purchase it at $4.79 a loaf. Not much better price but at least $1.00 off. Two weeks ago, you offered the same bread at $3.99 which, in my opinion, is a more affordable price and should be the regular price for such a small loaf. Would you be good enough to consider this request and, hopefully, act on it?

Many thanks, in anticipation of your early and positive response.

On January 29 2018 at 5:45 I was shopping at Food Basic on Lawerence Ave East, The veggies and fruits were well stocked but, the meat department was lacking of meat that was supposed to be on sale. I was in unable to find someone to help me for the meat that was on special this week. I proceeded to the cashier but she was closing however, I asked her if I needed to leave she said “no” she cash me out and tell me to have a good evening and be careful driving. I thought that was such a wonderful thing to say knowing the weather was no the greatest. I would definitely shop at this location again. Thanks for acknowledging your customers.

  • I visited the food basics store in Kemptville Ontario. My code is OC918A479E7A172D5 dated September 27th. Just needed to say how clean and organized it was..such a pleasure to shop.

  • The Mayfair Diner is an establishment. My moms and dads and grandparents started off bringing me there previously mentioned 40a long time back and we often enjoyed it. We contain been towards the other however the regional really feel of the locals (our neighbors) that we would meet up with there manufactured it Good. Foodstuff was constantly superior and the waitstaff handled oneself together with spouse and children. My 2nd Option is Melrose then Llanerch. Eating Motor vehicle would include been 3rd for me yet they usually billed also considerably for what your self bought. Surprise if that is even now the similar

Service at store #100670 in london ont is up to standard with a wide selection of fresh products to choose from although if anyone was to look up under the stores shelving units they would see stock of different items not removed for cleaning up this would lead to an invitation of certain unwanted pests

  • Was into Food Basics in Cornwall at the Brookdale and waited 20 min before the manager decided to call for all cashiers. They only had 3 cashiers on and it was lined up 1/2 way down the isle. Was not impressed. They need to also put the cart person on earlier as there was a few carts in the store, and a few people on the floor stalking shelves. Again not impressed with the food basics in the west end.

  • It was just a matter of minutes, while I was still shopping , I noticed the manager come in and spring into action, getting this team of able bodied youth to dismantle and assemble new skids / base setting at the store front near cashiers. A smooth, quick and undisruptive operation.
A great team of young and able young men lead by an even GREATER LEADER name Frank !! Kudos to the team and great store to shop in

It would be nice for my local Food Basics store (100863) to acknowledge and reward two of their very fine employees who show exemplary customer service. This location should be very proud to have these ladies on their pay roll.

I live in an older neighbor and many this store’s customers are elderly. Both Lisa and Danielle show that their really care about their customers. They are always friendly and engage in a brief chat like “how are you mom, did you find everything you need”?. Food Basics should have these ladies train the rest of the staff who can be seen as turning their backs on the customer while waiting for the debit transaction to go through.

Customers rush to the cashiers when these ladies are working. Personally, I would rather wait in a longer line just to be served by Lisa.. I always leave the store feeling up beat.

Please do something special for these ladies to also show that Food Basics on Neilson Rd and Ellesmere (store # 100863) tel #416-284-5320) care too.

I shop at the Basics store at McLaughlin and Derry Road where I have been shopping since it opened. I would like to highly commend the staff for the most helpful and friendliest service as compared to all the other grocery stores in the area. I strongly feel that they should be rewarded in some way by your company.

I live about 15.00 dollars of cab bill to your store and then 15.00 dollars to get back…because I have doctors in the Dixie/Burnhamthorpe area I shop there…Since the new manager at Rockwood Mall has taken over, things are going down hill….why sell rotten fruit and vegetables, as the price is high….then as I can’t open the packages…I get to throw more than half out….today I purchased Aylmer crushed tomatoes, GoldSeal Tuna…checked them I thought very well but ended up with two cans all dented…as the majority were so much more dented….your 1.49 sour cream…priced for a 1.49 was soon to expire….at least a month for me to keep in my fridge….so I bought one for 2.49 Gay Lee…reduce your fruit before it goes bad…..maybe you can sell it faster…no tomatoes…they were too soft for me…no Shopsy hot dogs that were on special….got a rain check and now I have to run to get them befor my two weeks are up….I’m 69 years old I shop over two to three hundred dollars a month there…then still pick up 40.00 to 50.00 dollars through the month….my money runs out
after paying my bills and rent….so I wait until next time…my store at Central Parkway is just as bad…terrible head cashier…that tells me how long she worked there….I have shopped there when it was Dominion ….I was a cashier for 7 years while finishing high school…so she tells me that after I shop at all the changes of stores that for the last 35 years ….that I can’t have a say…..her attitude caused me to shop at Rockwood Mall…and now, its getting the same…I knew Joe…he knew my health problems, and would try his best not to send me home without the items that were on Special….I come on Monday or Tuesday….knowing that shoppers come in and stock their food up until another sale….and the item probably not on your shelf when I come in….its understandable….delivery and other things …like bad late to arrive at your store or weather is also understandable….I have come in on a Friday, Saturday and still not all the items were in….I loved shopping at Food Basics….when the prices are high and I need that item I will buy it but not to find out the the fruits are like tasteless, nectarines bought six over 4.00 dollars to find them slimy and they tasted like they were cooked….this is still fresh fruit season…only because they came from Florida, tasteless strawberries….I expect the fresh fruit and vegetable experts to choose or taste before buying from they large corporation…..the reduced vegetables or fruit are garbage…your store is wasting money for packaging to put them in the garbage the next few days…..do I complain a lot…no not at all ….I JUST GET THE SHORT END OF THE STICK….RECALLING WHEN IN 2007 I ASKED A YOUNG PRODUCE EMPLOYEE IF HE COULD PICK FOR ME THREE STRAWBERRIES CONTAINERS AS I WAS ALMOST BLIND FOR OVER 10 YEARS UNTIL MY SURGERY IN 2008 AND 2009…..GOT HOME AND I SERVED THEM TO MY KIDS …TO SAY MOM THESE ARE ALL BAD…..10 OUT OF 3 CONTAINERS WERE GOOD….I’M NOT RICH, and don’t own my own home …I AM NOW ON A PENSION ….please help….I will still continue on shopping Food Basics…today was a day with many empty shelves…and very disappointed….spent 111.61 dollars…because many items were missing…then I mentioned it to cashier and the girl gives me a rain check and says its only good for two weeks….do I go again and spent 30.00 dollars in cab fare, just to get my items I need…..good luck in the NEW YEAR with customers sending good comments….Sincerely T. Cunningham

Great service and prices! The store is always clean and provides a wide variety of products. i shop there several times a week!

  • You need to teach your cashiers the difference between hothouse sweet orange pepper and a papaya. They weighed a papaya 1.205 kg. and should have charged 2.18/kg. and ended up charging $8.77/kg calling a papaya a hothouse sweet orange pepper.
Charging $10.57 for a 1.205 kg. papaya. Now we are left with the aggravation of having to go back to the store and try to rectify this problem. Over charged by $7.96.

I was in your Simcoe Food Basics and was very dissatisfied with one of the workers.
This is the first day of your flyer specials, so I decided to take advantage and pick up the specials that I needed. I did get some of the items but some simply were not there. Among the items I was looking for were Latancia Cream Cheese and Black Diamond cheese slices. .
Fine it was the first day of the specials, but it seems that not having the flyer specials stocked, is an on going occurrence at this particular store. Upon looking for the Black Diamond cheese slices I asked the young man to check to see if they were in the back. He said if they weren”t in the spot where they usually are then no he didn’t have any. I mentioned that this is the one problem I have with Food Basics and that is they always seem to be missing a few items that are advertised in the flyer. He got annoyed with me and said it wasn’t his fault that they hadn’t come on the truck and if I wasn’t happy then I should just stop shopping there.
I have worked in retail for 30 plus years and I have always tried to accommodate the customer and I have never suggested that if the customer had a problem to simply not return.
There are other food stores in the area that price match and after today I will not be returning to this store.
    Thank you.

I was in your store on pape ave., yesterday there was in the meat section pork roast/tenderloin in vac packaging. Friday. Today is Saturday. I went to purchase some today… None available.. I cook from scratch. I don’t want seasoned pork pancetta roast I don’t want pork chops I wanted a hunk of meat to cook myself, cut up myself season myself.. What did they do with what was there yesterday??? I am thoroughly insulted, why should I SETTLE for something I don’t want??? I won’t shop there again.. Other than milk bread and a couple of basics.. I will sooner take my business elsewhere, where I can get what I need I know own I’ll pay more but at least I will get what want.. Good day.
